The BY2-20 helps you produce transfer-ready graphics for T-shirts, hoodies, sportswear, tote bags, aprons, accessories, and more. It is a strong fit for short runs, one-off designs, customer personalization, small business merch, and on-demand apparel production.
With direct-to-film printing, designs can be applied to a wide range of fabrics including cotton, polyester, blends, denim, nylon, rayon, and other textile applications when used with the proper film, powder, curing, and heat press process.
Design-to-print workflow
The BY2-20 is designed to keep the DTF process clear from file setup through final output. Roland DG Connect Designer and VersaWorks 7 help prepare artwork, generate white layers, handle transparent PNG workflows, manage color, and send production-ready files to the printer.
- Prepare artwork: Set up the design and white base layer.
- Print to DTF film: Output the artwork in reverse using Roland S-PG2 inks.
- Apply DTF powder: Coat the wet ink with adhesive powder.
- Cure the transfer: Melt and cure the powder using a proper oven or shaker/dryer workflow.
- Heat press: Transfer the design to the garment using heat, pressure, and correct dwell time.
